Design a 21st Century Schoolhouse Handbook - 3 points

  • Go to the 21st Century Schoolhouse and surf through the site. Download plans that are examples for Multiple Intelligences, Cooperative Learning, Cross-Age Tutoring, and Thematic Literature units. Print out the List for Early Childhood Multiple Intelligences Activities and for Multiple Intelligences Activities for Elementary/Secondary. Build a section dedicated to great websites.

Internet Search - 1 point for each 5 plans

  • Go to the Educational Links section of 21st Century Schoolhouse. There are over 3,000 plans available through the lesson plans internet sites. Search the lesson plan sites and download 5 plans you would find valuable for your students. Evaluate the plans, explain how you would use them with your group. Add these ideas to your 21st Century Schoolhouse Handbook. Send the evaluations to your mentor.

Internet Search - 3 points - Parent Brochure

  • Go to the Educational Links - Searching through the Educational Links section, review internet sites which would be valuable for parents to use at home. Make a list of these sites and a short description of each. Send the list and descriptions to your mentor. Plan on using this brochure in your classroom. Add these ideas to your 21st Century Schoolhouse Handbook.

Internet Search - 3 points - Teacher Brochure

  • Go to the Educational Links - Searching the section of internet sites, build a list of professional websites that would be valuable for teachers, including lesson plan sites and professional interest organizations (i.e. special education, general education). Plan on sharing this brochure with your colleagues. Send the list to your mentor. Add these ideas to your 21st Century Schoolhouse Handbook.

Sunshine State Standards - 3 points per Curriculum Area Standard

  • Go to the Sunshine State Standards Page of the 21st Century Schoolhouse. Select a curriculum area in the Sunshine State Standards (i.e. Language Arts - Primary). As you read the standards, select one standard - write ten activities that would develop that standard. Send the activities to your mentor. Add these ideas to your 21st Century Schoolhouse Handbook.
