CREATE THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY CLASSROOM

Groups: 3 Random Selection

Roles: Researcher-Searches for information and takes notes; Artist-Drafts the ideas; Planner- Organizes the ideas

Task: Create the ideal classroom arrangement - use poster paper or mural paper

Positive Interdependence: Only one poster will be done-So all have to work as a team

Individual Accountability: Each person fulfills his/her job

Critieria For Success: Poster presented to the rest of the class

Teacher as the Observer: The teacher observes team cooperation

Monitoring and Intervention: Look for team members who encourage one another


FLORIDA HISTORY

Groups: 2 Random Selection - No Special Skills Needed

Roles: None

Task: After researching the information about the early settlers of Florida, produce a presentation which incorporates visual aids, music, short written speech, and oral speech.

Positive Interdependence: Each member of the team will assist the group with the oral presentation.

Individual Accountability: During research time, the teacher will give productivity grades to each student based on the amount of information written by each team member.

Critieria For Success: At least one fact will be written down concerning the following subjects: early settlers, native Floridians, little one-room schoolhouses, food, entertainment, fishing, clothing, farming, citrus industry, tourism, the land, economy.
