  Technology Activities:
  - Internet—Students will use computers in the computer lab to research recipes and chuck wagons. Students will vi= sit the sites listed above to find their favorite recipes.
  - Word—Students will copy their favorite recipes to a Word document by highlighting the text. Tell students to p= lace the cursor on the text needed and hold the left side of the mouse down= and drag over text to highlight. Then the students will press control C to copy the text into memory. The student will= then open a Word document by clicking on the Microsoft Word icon. Then, the student will type c= ontrol V to import the text to the Word document screen.
  - Print—The student will type control P to get the print menu to display on the sc= reen (Word document open still). The student will select OK to print the document.

  The students will use Kidspiration software to create = a Venn diagram comparing regular cowboys and buffalo soldiers.
  
  The students will print out the Venn diagram using the classroom printer.
  
  Description:
  - The students will use the computers in the computer lab to visit the above mentioned website. The students will click on the Internet Explorer icon to surf the web. The students will type the we= bsite listed in the box located at the top of the screen and click GO.
  - The teacher will use the CD player in the listening center to share the st= ory aloud with the class.
  - Using Kidspiration software—The students will use Kidspiration software that is loaded on the computer lab computers create a Venn Diagram. The students will use the voi= ce prompts to guide them through this activity.

  - Excel / classroom computers—The students will use the classroom comput= ers to create an Excel spreadsheet of the cost for the vacation planned. Students will click on the Ex= cel icon to open the program. Students will create a spreadsheet that using formulas to compu= te the totals for each column. The student will print the findings for the class to review by clicking control P and OK to print.
