Grade Level: 3rd
Objective: Students will demonstrate knowledge of multiplication facts using pe= ncil and paper, calculators, and Internet sites.
Description:
Students will discuss things that come in groups, make arrays, and use manipulatives to model multiplication. Students will use the “constant” feature on the calculator to help them realize that multiplication is repeated addition. The students will visit websites containing multiplication games to reinforce the skill.

Title: Writing an Autobiography
Grade Level: 3rd
Objective: Students will use the writing proces= s to write an autobiography.
Description:&n= bsp; Students will use the digital camera to take pictures of classmates. Students will pri= nt pictures using the computer printer. The students will write their autobiography using the Microsoft Word program, print the document, and attach the photo of themselves. The students will use a thumb driv= e to save the document for editing and revising between visits to the computer l= ab or classroom computer. The autobiographies will be compiled into a class bo= ok.

Title: B= e a Meteorologist
Grade Level: 3rd
Objective: Students will observe and graph weather patterns as well as use technology to report on the weather.
Description: Students will search the web for local weather forecasts. Students will work in groups to videotape the “meteorologist” who will report the weather. The groups will take their videos = to their buddy’s (younger students on campus) classroom and use the VCR = to show the weather forecast.

Title: Speaking Spanish

Objective: Students will be knowledgeable of common Sp= anish words.
Description: The students will host a native Spanish speaker. They will prepare the classroom fo= r the visit by having the overhead projector ready and engaged for the speaker to= use. After learning several words, the students will create a Power Point slide for each new word that contains the English and Spanish pronunciations. The slides will include clip art.&n= bsp; After mastering the pronunciation, the students will record themselv= es on a tape recorder translating the words they have learned.

There they will read the Problem o= f the Week, which is a random trivia question and send the answer back to the tea= cher via email. The first student = with the correct response will use the smart board in the classroom to demonstra= te navigation of the technology and share the answer with the rest of the clas= s.
